How We Do What We Do
Classroom Instruction: I instruct entire classes in the three domains of academic skills, career development, and social-emotional learning using a comprehensive, developmental, preventive curriculum based on the ASCA Mindset & Behaviors action plan.
Small-Group Instruction: I instruct small groups of 3-12 students that are focused on academic skills, career experiences, or social-emotional skills as their needs indicate.
Appraisal: I use a variety of assessments (MAP Growth, district assessments, STAAR, ACT, SAT, PSAT, ASVAB, WISC, Woodcock Johnson, classroom teacher assessments, interviews) to gather information about students' needs in order to create instruction to meet those needs.
Advisement: I use the information gathered through the various assessments to make recommendations to students to help them make decisions about their futures.
Individual Instruction: I provide instruction to an individual student based on that student's specific needs in each of the three domains to help that student be successful academically, socially-emotionally, and career wise.
